New Ceramics: Radical Legacies To coincide with the opening of The Hepworth Wakefield Ceramics Fair on Saturday 28 June, and in celebration of the Elizabeth Fritsch: Otherworldly Vessels exhibition, we are working in partnership with the Crafts Council to bring together an exciting group of artists and ceramics specialists for a special round table discussion.

This special event will focus on Fritsch’s cohort of ‘New Ceramic’ graduates from the Royal College of Art in the 1970s whose innovations in form and colour had a lasting impact on British studio pottery. The artists will give first hand accounts of their pioneering roles in exploring the sculptural possibilities of ceramics over the last 40 years. Dates: Fri 27 Booking and More Information

Women's Work screening + Caroline Walker Q&A Women's Work is a new documentary directed by Nicola Black, about internationally acclaimed artist Caroline Walker. Walker’s work explores the diverse social, economic and cultural experiences of women living in contemporary society. From female tailors to midwives, from chambermaids to migrant workers, Walker paints the unseen, often underpaid work of women everywhere.

The film follows Walker over the past 5 years, creating work around themes of childcare and nurture in relation to women’s work, subjects that are central to her current exhibition at The Hepworth Wakefield, Caroline Walker: Mothering.
